What the Profit Scan Collects

When you complete the Profit Scan and submit the gate form, we collect:

Your Anonymous ID

Every company that completes the Profit Scan is assigned an anonymous identifier in the format RG-XXXX (for example, RG-1047). This ID is:

The only identifier visible to other dashboard users in any comparison view
Randomly assigned from a sequential counter — it does not encode any information about your company
Shown to you in your dashboard and in your welcome email so you can identify your own data
Never linked to your company name, email, or any other identifying information in any user-facing view

How the Industry Benchmark Works

The industry comparison features in the dashboard are powered by aggregate calculations across all submissions. Here is exactly how it works:

A database view computes average scores across all submissions for each of the 14 disciplines. This view returns summary statistics only — no individual company records.
When you view the "vs Industry" tab, you see your scores alongside these averages. The averages are numbers computed server-side — not raw data from other companies.
The company comparison feature allows you to select anonymous RG-XXXX IDs and compare discipline scores side by side. You see their scores for each discipline (Strong / Partial / Gap) but cannot access their name, email, revenue, or any other information.
Industry comparison features are disabled until the dataset reaches a minimum of 10 submissions. Below that threshold, a single company could potentially be identified by process of elimination in a small dataset.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Profit Scan data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase on infrastructure in the United States. Access controls are enforced at the database level using row-level security — the application code cannot access another user's records regardless of how requests are constructed.

Your welcome email is sent via Resend, a transactional email provider. Your email address is transmitted to Resend for the purpose of delivery and is not used for any other purpose.

What We Do With Your Data

We do:

Store your scores and account information to power your personal dashboard
Include your anonymized scores in aggregate benchmark calculations
Use your contact information to follow up about your results
Use aggregate patterns across submissions to improve the assessment and benchmark

We do not:

Share your company name, email, or individual scores with any other dashboard user
Sell your data to third parties
Use your data for advertising or targeting on other platforms
Share your data with Red Grey's advisory clients or any external parties
Expose raw submission records through any API or export accessible to users

Opting Out and Data Deletion

You can opt out of follow-up communications at any time by replying "unsubscribe" to any email from Red Grey or contacting us at support@redgreyhq.com.

To request deletion of your Profit Scan data and dashboard account, email support@redgreyhq.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will delete your company record, contact record, scan submissions, and auth account within 30 days. Note that anonymized aggregate calculations (industry averages) are derived from all submissions and cannot be retroactively adjusted once your data is included.
